A Message from Mayor McGinty

I wanted to take the opportunity to update you on the response of myself and the Village Board regarding the COVID-19 Pandemic.

First, I want to thank each and every resident for heeding the stay at home order by the Governor to help combat this pandemic and as we begin re-opening, I urge everyone to continue to listen to our health professionals. Even though the numbers continue trending down we still need to be aware of social distancing parameters.

Working together with the Village Board we continue to ascertain the vital information needed for our first responders in order to keep them safe on their fire and ambulance calls. Our Fire Department is the lifeblood of our community and they have been fantastic in their continued response to the needs of Island Park. I want to thank the Chiefs and members of the Island Park Fire Department for their service to the Village and the entire community.

We are proud of the efforts of our DPW staff for their efforts which are vital to the public health and safety of our residents and are greatly appreciated. Please see the updated recycling regulations on the opposite side of this newsletter.

I urge all residents to enroll in our CodeRED Village Public Safety and Informational alert system. To register text
“IslandParkAlerts” to 99411.

Village Hall is now open to the public but please remember social distancing procedures and wearing a mask is a must! We have taken the necessary steps to ensure your safety as well as that of our great staff. We are still available to answer any questions on Facebook or by calling Village Hall at 516-431-0600.

Deputy Mayor Annarella, Trustees Irene Naudus, Barbara Volpe-Ried, Michael Gagliarid and myself are working together to keep Island Park safe. We will get through this together as a community and Island Park’s Renaissance will not only be one of the Village but of each and every one of us! On behalf of myself and the Village Board—-Stay Safe!

Sincerely,
Michael McGinty, Mayor
