The Village of Island Park is pleased to announce a critical gas infrastructure replacement project to be completed by National Grid, made possible through a cooperative agreement between the utility provider and the Village. This essential work, required by New York State regulations, will upgrade gas mains, service lines, and related infrastructure to enhance safety and reliability.
Thanks to an agreement negotiated by Mayor Michael McGinty and the Village Board, National Grid will fund full curb-to-curb repaving of all affected roads and restoration of all impacted public and private property.
This agreement ensures there will be no cost to Village taxpayers and makes National Grid exceed the standards of only repaving where they dig. By partnering with National Grid during this critical gas infrastructure project, we’re ensuring not only upgraded gas lines for enhanced safety and reliability but also beautifully repaved streets that elevate the quality of life for our residents.
Affected Streets
The project will impact the following streets:
- Long Beach Road
- Radcliffe Road
- Quebec Road
- Sagamore Road
- Arlington Walk
- Keane Walk
- Suffolk Road
National Grid will coordinate with the Village to reduce disruptions and maintain clear communication. Project updates will be shared via this webpage and Facebook page.
