Long Beach Road Construction Project
March 30, 2022The Village of Island Park has secured a grant with the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York that included a comprehensive planning study and includes the present construction on Long Beach Road.
The construction includes drainage work along long beach road from the intersection of Long Beach Road and Warwick Road to the intersection of Sagamore Road and Long Beach Road. the project includes environmental plantings, called swales. These swales will assist and play a role in more efficacious drainage along Long Beach Road. in addition the project features “bump-outs” as traffic mitigation measures.
Subsequent to this project, the Village will be addressing the intersection of Long Beach Road and Warwick Road and the intersection of Sagamore Road and Long Beach Road for traffic mitigation. Traffic signal control devices are being studied in conjunction with the Nassau County Department of Public Works, Traffic Engineering Division.
