Community Meeting: Empire Wind Project
May 26, 2022We are reaching out to invite you to join our upcoming Island Park Community Meeting, to be held virtually on Zoom on Thursday, June 2nd, from 6 – 8PM.
The meeting will focus on the Empire Wind project, which is projected to provide reliable, renewable power to more than a million New York homes. We will also hear from our co-hosts: Citizens Campaign for the Environment and Wind Works LI.
This workshop will provide an overview of how Long Island is paving the way in this exciting new industry. The event will be an opportunity to learn about project details and the permitting process, meet the project team, share what is most important to you, and engage with experts on diverse focus topics including fisheries and marine logistics, offshore wind and the environment, and benefits and potential impacts to the community including jobs, community benefits, and viewsheds.
