Village Clerk

The Village Clerk manages the day to day operations of the Incorporated Village of Island Park. The Village Clerk is responsible for books and records of all Village resolutions and local laws, recording minutes of Board of Trustees meetings, and coordinating many other activities at Village Hall.

Tax Information

Village Taxes are due June 1st.

Penalties on unpaid taxes will be incurred on payments received after July 1st and post marked by the U.S. post office after July 1st.

Payments may be made in person during regular business hours:
Monday – Friday 9:00AM – 4:30PM
(except Holidays) or by mail.

Checks should be made payable to the Incorporated Village of Island Park, and mailed to Village Office, 127 Long Beach Road, NY 11558.

Property Tax Exemptions

Application forms and information regarding property tax exemptions can be obtained at Village Hall during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 4:30 P.M., or by calling 516-431-0600.

Senior Citizen Exemption

Senior Citizens are reminded that applications for exemption MUST be received at Village Hall by December 31st. If applications are mailed, they must be postmarked by the U.S. Postmaster no later than December 31st. The exemption is available to all eligible seniors for real property owned by one (1) or more persons, each of whom will be sixty-five (65) years of age or over during the taxable status year, or real property owned by husband or wife, one (1) of whom will be sixty five (65) years of age or over during the taxable status year. This application MUST be renewed EACH YEAR.

Veteran Exemption

Veterans wishing to apply for exemption must submit an application and proof of participation in active military service by December 31st. If mailed, the application must be postmarked by the U. S. Postmaster no later than December 31st.

Budget Information

The Village Budget for each fiscal year will begin early February following the submission of operating budget requests by the head of departments and the village clerk. The Board of Trustees will evaluate the requests and meetings will be held with each department head to discuss their requests. Public hearings will be held (notices are published in the official newspaper of the Village). The Board will give due consideration to any pertinent suggestions from the public. The budget for each fiscal year must be adopted on or before April 30.

Fair Housing

As of April 19, 2018 The Village has adopted a Fair Housing Policy and a Non-Discrimination Policy as it relates to zoning and land use to assure equal housing opportunities and nondiscrimination in its zoning and other land use purposes.  Any person who believes that any these policies have been violated by the Village may contact the Mayor at 516-431-0600, or the following agencies.
